Foshan Gaoming Globally Calls for City Logo with the Prize of 50,000 RMB!

On July 24, Gaoming District, Foshan City officially launched the "Gaoming City Logo Design Competition". This competition is open to submissions from all over the world, and the highest prize for a single item is 50,000 RMB.
Gaoming District, located in the central part of Guangdong Province, has been famous for its academy culture. As an important ecological barrier of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Gaoming District has been continuously promoting the high-quality development of the city adhering to the concept of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”, and its comprehensive strength has been ranked among the national top 100. With the promotion of large-scale infrastructure construction such as Gaoming Station of Zhuhai-Zhaoqing High-speed Railway, Pearl River Delta Hub (Guangzhou New) Airport, Airport Industrial Park and etc., Gaoming District will be further highlighted as "Bay Area Hub". Prosperous, dynamic, open, inclusive and livable as it is, Gaoming is seizing valuable development opportunities with a new look, running at full speed and playing its own value.
Therefore, the competition aims to establish an identification system and create an IP for city image to further enhance the city’s recognition, reputation and influence, showing the city brand of “Go Green, Be Clean” to the world.
The competition receives the support from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and other professional institutions at home and abroad, and invites famous teachers and professors as expert judges. It is reported that the panel is composed of five experts, including Li Zhen, associate professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Chen Ke, dean of the School of Sculpture and Public Art of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Yang Ming, postgraduate tutor of the School of Fine Arts of Henan University, Guo Jijiang, secretary general of Guangdong Art Promotion Association, and Li Meizheng, chairman of Gaoming District Artists Association.
The solicitation of the contest ends on August 31st, 2022, with no restrictions on individual or institutional participation. The period of public notification and voting is from September 1st to September 9th, 2022. 11 winning entries will be selected by the judging panel, and the final awards will be jointly assessed by the panel and the Gaoming District Information Office, including 1 Best Design Award, whose prize is 50,000 yuan, and 10 Excellence Awards.
As for the concept of the design, it can be based on the city slogan of “Go Green, Be Clean”, showing the natural ecological beauty, the achievements of urban construction and industrial development, the improvement of economy and life quality, and the advantages of the convergence of agriculture and cultural tourism industry of Gaoming, highlighting the city’s identity, cultural deposits and characteristics.
